Our Thanksgiving Turkeys

Our turkeys spend the first quarter of their lives alongside our chickens in our brooder and then on pasture in one of our mobile range coops (basically, a greenhouse on skids). As the chicken season ends and the turkeys take over the coop, the range coop provides excellent shelter from November's variable weather while still providing them with fresh air and fresh food after each morningโ€™s move.  Turkeys are eager foragers, and they love nothing better than stalking bugs in the grass.

Besides their daily dose of fresh grass and bugs, we feed our turkeys a custom feed of fresh, locally milled, non-GMO grain. Our birds never receive any hormones or antibiotics. As with all of our animals, our priority is to create the conditions for health and the freedom to expression of their natural behaviors.

We process our turkeys fresh the week before Thanksgiving, but we advise customers to reserve their turkey in advance, as we allocate the turkeys on a first-come first-served basis.
